Geoeconomics Case Study - IBM-led Consortium

Client testimonial

"Mark Hepworth and Geoeconomics created an excellent report on the economic growth prospects at Somerset County. They analysed the current economic performance and were able to make a number of critical recommendations of the investments that are needed to make a major step change. I found them extremely responsive and knowledgeable and will certainly use their services again."

Patrick Smith, IBM

Geoeconomics took on the role of economic development specialists within an IBM-led consortium bidding for a shared services contract from Somerset Council and other public agencies in the South West region. The contract required the consortium to include a number of Corporate Social Responsibility commitments in the form of economic development project proposals. Against this background, Geoeconomics prepared an economic assessment of Somerset that was delivered at key stakeholder seminars and via a special video presentation at bidding stage. Furthermore, Geoeconomics presented a range of needs analysis to support and define potential enterprise and learning projects for inclusion in the bid. The findings presented the consortium with an invaluable overview of the economic growth prospects of Somerset County enabling them to make a number of recommendations about investments needed to make a critical step change. IBM won the bid. Geoeconomics Case Study - IBM-led Consortium
