| We came together as Geoeconomics to pursue our common interest in the economics of sustainable development. What ideas and practices are needed to build an economic system capable of delivering a higher quality of life for everyone, now and in the future?
We believe in asking the right questions and confronting rather than side-stepping difficult issues. As a result our clients say they find working with us ‘challenging and inspiring’ as well as practically useful. | Continuous improvement in our knowledge, skills and relationships is a core value in Geoeconomics. This means investing in basic and applied research, working as directors for innovative social enterprises and participating in best practice communities, within the UK and internationally.
Our research is designed to penetrate to the heart of the issue – its genuine cutting edge takes our clients a long way towards understanding and identifying the right strategic options. This is what we mean by evidence-based policy and business strategy. We have found that clients appreciate this ‘need to know’ approach to research and become engaged with the research process itself. |
Our practical focus is the development of alternative business models that can deliver on the “triple bottom line”. We favour a systemic approach which also addresses issues of policy and regulation and access to finance to support such businesses become scaleable and sustainable. Sarah’s past international experience of microfinance and current position as a part-time director of Big Issue Invest gives us first-hand practical insight into what it takes to build more socially-driven businesses and markets.

Learning through doing and interacting is how knowledge-intensive businesses like ourselves grow and change. Hence we are very excited by the rapid growth of our knowledge community and its prospects – the innovative people and organisations we work with now and who we hope to work with in the future.
